I used these on a project that has a control panel with a timer and temperature readouts. With the proper software (on Arduino board) the displays were nice and bright and very responsive. As a technical note, be aware that this component uses persistence of vision to display number on all four segments. Basically, you need to flash the first digit, delay, turn it off, flash the second digit, delay, etc. The program required is pretty involved, so don't get these if you are not decent at programming. If you need help, do a search for "Griddlock Cosplay". Extremely good price for value!
